Delhi to be Hit by an Earthquake Soon - NASA!!...

Since last few days this WhatsApp message has gone viral stating Delhi will soon be hit by a huge earthquake of magnitude 9.1 on the Richter scale. Further the message states that the quake would hit the NCR between April 7th to April 15th. It has attributed this information to a NASA. We have seen such messages gone viral so easily as most of the people forward this in group and its easy to braodcast it from there. Its a hoax.

The message says

“According to NASA, the biggest earthquake will hit Delhi NCR soon next month. The Richter Scale will be 9.1 or more. Date is Between 7th of April to 15th April and the msg states Loss of life in Lacs.

Further it says “The Centre of This Biggest rector’s scale earthquake would be Gurugram and This will be the 2nd time in World’s History that huge loss of life and property has declared by NASA. This is biggest Earthquake may occure in Delhi NCR.

All such hoaxs always comes with a message share with friends and family. Further this hoax says

“Spread to all your relatives or friends who stay in Delhi NCR. This earthquake will be the largest as it covers the areas like In India ( Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, J&K to Tamilnadu, Rajasthan to Bihar. In Pakistan Rector’s Scale would be 4-4.2 maximum.
If possible move at least for a week from Delhi NCR.  Government will take action very soon on This to save life of People. For More Details,” the message further says.

First of all earthquakes cannot be predicted. Though, warning systems for tsunamis have been developed by the scientist, but the technology for predicting earthquake is still not been developed so far. Scientists across the globe are trying hard to develop such devices which can warn for earthquakes or predict it. 

Secondly, NASA’s official website is and they have not issued any official alert regarding earthquakes on their website. 

Hence you dont have to worry about the earthquake and just go back to your work.
