Travel Insurance FAQ

What is travel insurance?
Travel insurance protects you against unexpected events during your trip abroad, including medical emergencies, hospitalization, trip delays, lost baggage, passport loss, and other covered travel-related incidents.
Anyone traveling outside Nepal for tourism, study, business, employment, or visiting family should consider travel insurance for financial protection against unexpected emergencies.
Anyone aged 1 to 100 years, regardless of nationality, can purchase this travel insurance.
Coverage depends on the policy you choose. Plans are available for destinations worldwide, including Schengen countries, the USA, Canada, Australia, the UK, Asia, and many other destinations.
Coverage may include emergency medical expenses, hospitalization, emergency medical evacuation, personal accident, loss or delay of checked baggage, loss of passport, trip delay, trip cancellation or interruption, personal liability, and emergency assistance services.
Some countries and visa categories require travel insurance. For example, many Schengen visa applicants must provide travel medical insurance that meets visa requirements. Always check your destination country’s requirements before traveling.

You typically need your passport, travel itinerary or flight details, destination country, travel dates, and personal information required for policy issuance.
